Department of Electrical Engineering of Yuan Ze University, in collaboration with the imaging medical team from Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, participated in the Google Kaggle artificial intelligence competition and emerged as champion.

The Electrical and Communications Engineering College of Yuan Ze University, led by Professor Chen Dun-Yu, along with lab team members Sun Yi-Chen, Dai You-Zhe, Lai Jun-Cheng, and Hsu Yu-Chen, in collaboration with the team of doctors from the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's Department of Radiology, including Dr. Xie Zhao-Yu, Dr. Chen Jian-Ling, Dr. Qiu Yi-Xuan, and Dr. Zhang Yu-Yun, participated under the lab name YZU MISLab in the Google Kaggle's world-class competition, AOCR 2024 Acute Appendicitis CT Image Recognition Contest. Competing against renowned universities and hospital research teams from around the world, after three months of intense competition among nearly 200 participating teams, they stood out with an astonishing prediction accuracy of over 92%, securing the championship honor.
