Mr. Li, Assistant Professor of Department of Art and Design, presents his work “Spectrum” for 2016 Taipei Biennial: Gesture and archives of the present, genealogies of the future: A new lexicon for the biennial in Taipei Fine Arts Museum, starting September 10 until February 5, 2017.
Graduated from the Loughborough University of UK, Li won 2005 Taipei Arts Award. To present his work for Taipei Biennial, Li collects tea beverage with plastic bottles from the supermarket and convenient store and removes the plastic labels. The row of tea bottles without labels shows gradients of the tea color, like a spectrum. Li thinks the marketplace is a database, which collects everything we need and is a researchable archive and can be updated in the library called Our Daily Lives.
